Getting to Strasbourg
Traveling to Strasbourg is made easy by nearby international airports (in France, Germany, or Switzerland), high-speed trains (TGV), and highways. See the global map from the convention center website.
By plane
You may arrive directly at Strasbourg Airport that is well connected to a large number of French and European cities through regular and low-cost airlines. You may also travel through one the neighboring International Hubs (Paris, Frankfurt, ...), from where many connections exist. Here are some useful information:
- Strasbourg Airport (SXB): Direct flights from Amsterdam, Barcelona, Bruxelles, London, Madrid, Porto, Prague, Rome, ...
Every 20 minutes, a shuttle train connects to the city center, in about 9 minutes. - Paris Charles de Gaulle Airport (CDG): There are eight high-speed trains (TGV) per day going in a straight line to Strasbourg in about 2 hours and 20 minutes.
Your travel agent should normally deal automatically with this connection. If you don't find a good solution, you are advised to explicitly check connections (see the By train section below). - Frankfurt Main International Airport (FRA): Shuttle to Strasbourg at least twice a day Alsace shuttle or every two hours Lufthansa bus shuttle. You may also rent a car (210km).
- Karlsruhe / Baden-baden airpark (FKB): Shuttle to Strasbourg every 1 hour Alsace shuttle. You may also rent a car (55 km).
- Basel-Mulhouse-Freiburg EuroAirport (BSL): Shuttle to Strasbourg every 3 hours Alsace shuttle. You may also rent a car (135 km).
By train
High-speed rail lines (TGV or ICE) join within a few hours: Paris, Lille, Lyon, Frankfurt, Stuttgart, Munich, Zürich. Online booking with SNCF (national French railway company).
